When creating our our fragrance in a workshop with Karen Gilbert we had to always consider our consumer and the market in which we are targeting our brand towards. Females who pay close care and attention to detail, with everything they do when considering their lifestyle and style. A female whose wardrobe is full of luxury garments; we are a brand that reassures the consumer that with us, her luxurious cashmere and silk fabrics will be cared for. 'From washing to wardrobe we have you covered.'
Vanilla was agreed to be one of the top notes within our fragrance, to combine we needed a fixative and heart notes along with the vanilla as an accessory as it isn't until scent are combined with various other scents that you can appreciate scents breaking through the combination. Fixatives scents tend to still be apparent many hours after the scent have been applied whereas accessory scents are often the most apparent scent when the fragrance is first applied. It was important for us to discover and experiment with these scents to find the perfect combination that worked for our brand!
A popular fragrance from French perfume house Geurlain called 'Double Vanille' is a scent that i was introduced to in department store Bergadorf Goodmans in New York, it is my absolute favourite fragrance that I've discovered to date! Conserving our target consumer, i believe Vanilla is also a popular scent for our target market when looking at market competitors, considering brands such as Jo Malone and The White Company, within these successful brands that sell a range of scented products that sell well, vanilla is an apparent popular choice, hence why we chose the vanilla scent to be the first scent to create for our collection!
After experimenting with quantity of drops and difference scents we come to an argreement on a scent that we all love and believe is really appropriate and would work really well as a fragrance spray, washing detergent as well as all the other products as part of our collection of products!
