Horst at V&A

V&A is currently holding a collection of photographs from late photographer Horst who focuses on composition, lighting and atmospheric illusion within his images. The exhibition showed rare vintage prints, sketchbook works, and collaborations with one of my favourite crazy artists Savidoor Dali!

The exhibition was a really interesting insight into the photographer, but i believe as an audience at the millennial age we would have appreciated the work if we saw the exhibition 40 years ago; due to technology developing dramatically over the last 20 years. I feel i defiantly take for granted colour and techniques within old images as things such as Photoshop are so asessible i think we take for granted the quality of vintage film prints. Nevertheless the colour in the Vogue portrait images were phenomenal, the the essence of true film photography really showed; the images were around A2 sized presented in a clinical white section of the exhibition which really exaggerated the colour- this collection was my favourite!

Unfortunately no photos or sketching within the exhibition was allowed, But this is one cheeky shot that i probably shouldn't have taken… How was your Monday?

With Love, DOAFSDO, x
