Yes yes yes. We rely on the internet and social media way too much and I believe we need to get creative again and create more often. She says typing from the iPhone in her hand. I'm not a massive fan of drawing & I'm fat from an illustrator, but I love all things tactile. Combing mixed media bits and bobs, seeing and reworking into various materials and images ect?! Then scanning things in, layering things up? More of this Chloe!
I really enjoyed reading through Hegarty; firstly it wasn't too lengthy, so kept me interested, was divided into particular sections so easy to understand what's what, and had various punny pictures throughout that made it all a little bit more fun!
This is aload of crap. I'm sorry but I find hot places some of the most inspiring? So your telling me if I'm walking and India and documenting the beautiful colour, design and architecture it's not going to inspire me and make me want to work? Nahhh. This is one particular part of this book I'm going to completely ignore. I believe everyone is different and it's finding your own place/zone that works for you and springs of routes of inspiration. Whether the weather is 4ft snow, brilliant sunshine, or pissing down cats and dogs! Inspiration is everywhere, take it and run with it, or leaveeeee it. Yeah.
Overall, i really enjoyed this book on my train journey back to Notts, its not too lengthy and a really good read that i believe you could pick up at anytime if your seeking that added extra little bit of added inspiration or motivation.
Ive recommended this book to all my crazy creative friends studying at other universities; all their whatsapp group albums will have a picture of this book between various screenshots and ugly selfies! With love, DOAFSDO, x
